On the artist’s first new single since the release of his 2023 debut LP The Endless Eve, Morning Tourist (AKA Sean McKinney) attempts to come to terms with change and the ways that things age and differ over time on his thoughtful new single ‘Leap’.
The track has an instantly moving and engrossing tone to it throughout thanks to the thoughtful nature of the instrumentation and the stirring way in which it builds, representing a perseverance and dogged nature in the face of the kinds of loss that is explored on the track. The track feels like a really rewarding and profound listening experience that does a great job of using the tools at the artist’s disposal to craft an immersive story of growth and gaining perspective amidst all of this, with the track holding a really engrossing warmth and charm throughout.
Of the track, Sean says; “It’s the first time the band has come into the studio with me, and the first time with producer Ben. So it feels like a bit of a new step for the project. Following the release of the LP, I wasn’t really sure what exactly the next offering would look like or how it might be delivered. Now we’re here, I’m delighted with the result and I can’t wait for people to hear it”.
