A deeply personal and immersive new release that finds the artist in a difficult place somewhere between heartbreak and begrudging acceptance, latest Nathaniel Earl single ‘happy’ explores the night that you find out that your ex is getting married, and the wave of emotions and feelings you have to process as you come to terms with it.

There is a level of composure to the thoughtful piano-led soundscape, the track swirling and rising in intensity as it progresses, as the artist genuinely wishes them the best but still has to clear the hurdle of having his heart broken. It makes for a really compelling and resonating listening experience that, while personal, has a lot of universal themes that listeners will be able to relate to and find a home in, as these kinds of failed relationships and having to witness somebody moving on in real time will feel all-too familiar to some.
