I know, it’s something that we’ve all been thinking from time to time lately, but fortunately, Night Hawk have delivered for us all on new single ‘Casual Fatality’.
The US outfit have a sound that sits uneasily somewhere between alternative rock and emo and then alt-country, and if that sounds like an uneasy and weird marriage, that’s because it is, but their sound has an effortlessly melodic feel to it beneath the lo-fi, DIY edge that characterises their sound. ‘Casual Fatality’ is a track that possesses mountains of appeal, from the plethora of ideas and guile on display to, to the raw and immersive edge of the packaging and delivery, to the earnest and affable nature of singer Peyton Semjen’s immersive vocals.
