The track is from the artist’s debut album Heirloom, set for release on September 3rd.
London singer-songwriter NUUXS is at her most open and candid on ‘Lemongrass’. The track is a sentimental and thoughtful look back on the artist’s upbringing and life from the ever-personal and moving writer.
‘Lemongrass’ is a track that continues to set NUUXS apart as a truly unique and peerless artist who’s experiences have shaped a sound that is intrinsically her own. Elegant pianos being met by a cutting edge alt-pop sharpness. This is raw, unfiltered art that couldn’t be done by anybody else, a testament to NUUXS and the personality and creativity that she brings to the fore on every release.
“This track is a dedication to my Papa and just from an adult point of view as to what he must have been through as a Lao refugee. I will be forever grateful for what he has shown me in his silent ways and I also wanted to touch on the beautiful Lao culture I am so lucky to know and be a part of. Thank you to my family and all the Lao community,” NUUXS explains.
