The track follows OLI’s promising initial singles ‘Happy’ and ‘What Happened to You?’
On latest OLI release ‘Think About It’, everything from its deliberate, mid-tempo pacing to it’s thoughtful and introspective lyrics feels considered and meticulously cultivated. The track has a real feeling of authenticity and careful precision. A work of art that has been, in both music and video, painstakingly crafted to immaculately captures the feelings and emotions of an artists feelings of helplessness and anxiety.
Such control and power over her sound seems to juxtapose the narrative of the track, one of a person who can’t control their thoughts and overthinking and finds it keeping them up at night. The track is relatable and has a real feeling of honesty and rawness that feels both melancholy and heavy while also breezy in its own way. ‘Think About It’ is the work of an artist in complete control of her sound creating a delicate balancing act between thoughtful introspection and appealing alt-pop soundscapes with neither ever threatening to overbear or dilute the other.
“There are days when you won’t have any control over your thoughts, you’ll think of anything and everything all at once,” explains OLI, “I wanted the song to show how that felt. When it’s late at night and all I can tell myself is ‘don’t over think’, whilst knowing I absolutely will anyway.”
