Olive Louise‘s confessional storytelling and immersive sound have made her a favourite of ours over the past few years, with the artist’s distinctive and memorable style making for a litany of highlights and moments that stick with you for long after your listen.

The latest release from the artist is the new single ‘Swallow The Ocean’, a track that sees Olive continuing to be as candid and vulnerable as ever. The single explores love, and the way that being in a relationship has forced the artist into a sense of fear and dread of being left along, which ironically has led to her pushing the person away as a result. This narrative is paired with a typically lush soundscape that provides the perfect backdrop for her gorgeous vocals and thoughtful musings about life, love and her emotional state of mind. Olive has made tracks like this something of a hallmark, with each having its unique appeal and flavour thanks to the heart that she pours into them and the vivid pictures painted in her narratives.

She confides, “Almost immediately after getting into a relationship I started to push the person away because I was scared that if they decided to leave me one day, I would essentially be emotionally destroyed and never get over them. The odd thing is, that feeling of falling in love, it’s addicting, but when I found myself actually in it it felt like danger.”
