His immersive writing and captivating indie pop sound have seen Wakefield’s Oliver Pinder really begin to carve out a name for himself throughout West Yorkshire and beyond over the last few years, lauded for his beguiling live performances and the resonating nature of his sound and charismatic charm.

The latest single from the artist comes in the form of ‘never ever’, an energetic track that sees him almost venturing into alternative rock territory with a full band sound that features distorted guitars and pounding rhythms to articulate a sense of frustration and aggression. These emotions stem from the track’s narrative, exploring a toxic relationship and the feeling of reclaiming your power and detaching yourself from a cycle of abuse and mistreatment. The impassioned nature of the vocals and emphatic soundscape make for some of Oliver’s most ambitious work to date, and see him continuing to flourish and develop as an artist and continue to carve out a path for himself to grow.

“This one took a long time to get right.” Oliver shares on the new release.” Me and the band have spent the last 18 months playing it live, finding the soundscapes we wanted to sit within the final release. It felt right taking it into the studio with my friend James Kenosha in Hull to really elevate that full band loud, energetic sound.

I wrote this song really with my girlfriends past relationship in mind, she had opened up about a few things and I really wanted to write a song that was just empowering about walking away from the wrong relationship.

I absolutely adore playing this one live, and I’m very nervous to share it in a studio recording, however, I love this song and hope it can resonate with some people that may be going through something similar.”
