The track follows the release of recent singles ‘Flip a Coin’ and ‘Metal Through Her Lips’
A thoughtful and cathartic new release that sees the artist exploring some of his struggles that he goes through, grappling with anxiety and OCD and having ways that he regulates and soothes himself, new Oscar Lindsey single ‘Painting the Walls’ is a track that feels as earnest and honest as anything you’re likely to hear anytime soon.
Similar to these little things that the artist does to calm himself, the track’s sound has a really soothing and smooth feel to it throughout that offers a nice mask for some of the darker aspects to the lyrics, the questioning of why his brain makes him act like this and do such sabotaging and seemingly unneccessary things in order to manage. The track has a message that feels so specific and so personal that it makes for a really compelling listen and bit of insight, and for the people who find themselves committing to the same rituals and repetitions in order to function and be able to go about their day, it could well offer a little bit of a message that they’re not entirely alone in doing so.
