The Vienna-based artist slows things down on her latest single.
OSKA‘s main assets have always been her engaging and thoughtful writing and her ethereal and beguiling vocals, and latest release ‘Crooked Teeth’, maybe just be the most rousing showcase of both that she has released to date.
From its offset, the track grips you. Emerging into a heartbroken narrative about losing the people that you have in your life and having to come to terms with it. ‘Crooked Teeth’ feels thoroughly rousing and alongside the previously released ‘Lousy T-Shirt’, hints that the artist’s highly awaited debut full length could be something really special.
The Vienna-based artist who was born into a family of singers and musicians wrote this song for her four older siblings, saying “They’ve all lost friends in tragic ways, and I’m only realizing now how hard that must have been. So, it’s about losing people and, along with them, the ability to be as carefree as we once were. It’s about wishing they were still here, and that we could still laugh like we used to – carefree laughs with carefree smiles, crooked teeth and all.”
