The generation of people turning 30 in the new few years is feeling increasingly disillusioned and unhappy with the state of the world around us and the opportunities that we are presented with, and Aberdeen emo outfit Palejoy have perfectly encapsulates this feeling and discomfort with the release of their excellent new single ‘Next Goal Wins’.

The track embodies the feeling of a slow circling towards the drain, directionless and searching for a sense of purpose with nothing seeming to go to plan. There is a really cathartic and powerful feel to the raw-edged instrumentation and vocals as explores the internal battles that we all wage every day and the toll that it takes on us all. Within all of this though, there is a sense of fight and resistance, a willingness and an urge to push through and persevere that shines through, a rallying cry to keep on going and keep on doing what you’re doing, to push back against the feeling of merely spinning your wheels.
