On his fifth single the artist looks to wrestle back some control from his demons.
Over the last six years, Peyton McMahon has been gradually releasing music and earning acclaim for his earnest, impactful songwriting and engaging charisma.
The latest release from the artist is his new single ‘No Control’, a track about the artist’s anxiety and grip that it so often holds over him. Musically however, the track feels like an emphatic statement from the artist, boasting an all-encompassing, cathartic edge that just grows in impact and drive as the track builds towards its apex. Everything here from the vocal style to the atmospheric build feels empowering and huge, making for an emphatic anthem aimed directly at the artist’s mental health struggles. This makes for a release that feels refreshingly raw and real, and listeners can easily find strength through the artist’s words and conviction.
“I wrote “No Control” about the anxiety I’ve struggled with since I was a kid.” Peyton says of the track. “Whenever I’m in situations where I don’t have control over the outcome, or I’m trying to make a big decision, I can sometimes overthink and worry to the extreme. It’s frustrating and makes things harder than they need to be, and it can sometimes feel like an endless cycle, so I wrote this song to vent about it. I worked on it remotely with Harper James on the production, and I’m super proud of how it came out”.
