The track follows stellar 2022 releases ‘True Love Never Dies’ and ‘Aftertaste’.
On the empowering and dynamic new single ‘Badder Than The Bad Boys’, hotly-tipped 19-year-old alt-pop star Peyton Shay is tired of following the norms and what is expected of her, and is desperate to find a way to break free.
The track is packed full of engaging and fun moments, from its catchy chorus to the artist’s effortless sense of cool defiance throughout. Everything from the guitar riffs to the dangerous atmosphere here leans into this sense of wanting to break free from conformity and normality, and the artist does a really slick job of expanding her alt-pop sound to mirror this.
“The idea behind ‘Badder Than The Bad Boys’ started in high school,” Peyton says on the track. “I grew up in a very proper and standardized town where everyone followed certain paths and expectations, even the “bad boys” followed a norm. I couldn’t stand it. I wanted to be on top of the world and genuinely live life for myself. This song is about me speaking and thinking how I want, not how everyone else expects me too. I hope this song gives power to the listener and helps them discover their true self.”
