Float Away with ALANA in Dreamy New Track ‘Counting Sheep’
Singer-songwriter ALANA is about to unveil her latest single ‘Counting Sheep’.
The New York based artist captures the longing emotion of the track with wistful vocals and powerful strings that layer soft chords, giving the track a delicate but intense feel.
Sharing her thoughts on the release, ALANA explains, “I wrote Counting Sheep at the end of last year when the world felt like it was falling apart and I found myself struggling to sleep.
My mind was so busy, so channelling all that energy into creating a song helped me cope.
Looking back on the process of making the song with my friend Joe Endozo, it felt super comforting to share my experience with someone else and make something positive out of a difficult time.”
Starting out as a diaristic poem that ALANA wrote about her struggles sleeping, she added a guitar melody and then took the song to producer Joe Endozo who helped build the sonic world of the track.
For the ‘Counting Sheep’ artwork, ALANA worked with installation artist Anna Warfield to create dreamy pillow letters that match the lyrics of the song. The beautiful creations materialize the feeling and concept of the track.
