Alex Stanilla returns with brand new dream-pop offering ‘Crab’

Soaring straight off the mark with a hypnotising indie-pop arrangement, ‘Crab‘ is the latest track from Philadelphia based artist Alex Stanilla.

Another addition to his legendary collection of stellar singles, ‘Crab’ continues the strong momentum in the right direction.

Bathed in angelic lo-fi grooves and intimate vocals, the brand new single from Alex Stanilla combines uplifting melodies with a legendary arrangement.

On the release, Alex Stanilla shares, “I always wanted to write a song about the beach but couldn’t quite figure out lyrically how to write about water and the ocean.  Crab was then structured and composed to feel like you’re hanging out at the beach for the day specifically the water.

The intro features guitars played through an old cassette player to give a choppy feeling like a big wave is about to crash.  The verses are also choppy and I tried to sing with a really abrasive vocal that hopefully smooths out in the chorus where the song opens up much like when a wave passes and the water calms and you can kinda float for a while.

The lyrics are kinda just a bunch of hodge podge I thought sounded cool but once when I was in the water a crab did latch onto my hand and wouldn’t let go and that’s where the title came from.”

For fans of MGMT, David Bowie, Anthony Green, Alex Stanilla is known for his distinctive, pioneering sound.

An immense talent that should be recognised globally.
