Glaswegian indie rock band Cloud House have unveiled their new single ‘Set You Free’.
The pop-tinged offering has a full-bodied sound that you can imagine filling stadium-sized venues.
A shimmering soundscape and uplifting melody makes this an irresistible single from the Scottish-four piece.
Produced and mixed by Bruce Rintoul (Fatherson, Twin Atlantic, Vukovi, Vistas, Vanives), the track itself is actually around 10 years old, originally written in 2013 by lead guitarist Patrick Wallace.
It boasts a deeply personal and tender lyricism combined with an extremely satisfying complimentary use of upbeat guitar and synths.
The band share an exclusive quote on the making of the track: “‘Set You Free’ was written a long time ago as an acoustic track, as a band we never really knew how best to approach completing the song.
The lyrics were always the same, sombre yet upbeat – we just had no idea on how to frame the track around it. Finally last year we played with some house & off-beat rhythms, introduced some “pop” elements and experimented with loads of different vocal effects and samples to get the final product.”
“We’re really happy with the track – We really tried to push in a new direction for this release and we think it’s worked really well,” Cloud House adds.
