British singer-songwriter Ella M returns with electro-pop anthem Too Cool
Drawing inspiration from her own life experiences, Ella M is a singer-songwriter and storyteller who is simply being human in her new track ‘Too Cool’. Born in Henley-on-Thames, the songwriter moved to New York when she was 11, and now resides in Los Angeles.
‘Too Cool’ is illuminated through soulful vocals, jazz undertones and an upbeat arrangement that will have you grooving into tomorrow.
Ella told us more in depth about the context of ‘Too Cool’, “This song was written in a lot of anger. I found that one of my closest friends at the time was becoming more and more distant due to new group of friends that they were surrounding themselves with.
I felt a little abandoned and not “cool” enough for that individual anymore. Thankfully we talked it out and things quickly went back to normal, but I think most of us have felt or been in this situation before and can agree that it feels pretty horrible.”
About the feeling of being neglected by your friends, the unfortunately relatable number hits close to home, especially in a time like now where we’re all finding out our true friends.
‘Too Cool’ has a mid-beat arrangement that surrounds itself in a ‘chilled out’ vibe, but still has the potential to get you dancing away in your room. Ella M strikes again with another adventurous number and we can’t wait to see where this songwriter’s career will bloom too.
