Filligar are back with a new offering ’17th Hour’
Having received critical acclaim from many outlets and gained fans across the world, they have been hailed as “a modern breed of psych-rock” combining styles and influences ranging from The Beatles to Tame Impala.
Consequence of Sound described Filligar as “admirably fresh” and throughout their journey have embarked on many a tour across the US and beyond with their unique brand of modernised rock ‘n’ roll.
After some time, the band has come together again to release their eighth studio album, ‘Future Self’.
They have taken time out to hone and perfect their craft and create an honest body of work that speaks to the masses, both sonically and lyrically.
The first single and opener to the album ‘The Force of the Feeling’ is a simply brilliant and powerful journey of a song, and depicts everything that Filligar are about as a band and
group who have been together for the best part of twenty years.
‘17th Hour’ along with the album, is a work of art and arguably Fillgar’s most accomplished body of work to date, with each track single-worthy, and you can hear the little subtle elements that have made the biggest of differences throughout.
It’s an epic release from the veterans, who return with a refreshed and mightily impressive new offering.
Speaking on the creation of ‘Future Self’ as an album, Filligar explain; “We had a lot of fun writing this album and are more excited to share it than any before. In many ways,
Future Self is a reflection not only of the journey that we’ve taken as a band since our start as teenagers in a Chicago basement but also of our enthusiasm to continue to uncover new stones in doing what we love.”
