‘You’ must see electro-pop artist Flo/so’s latest music video
Returning to the scene with his second single ‘You’ back at the beginning of this month, Flo/so unleashes the ethereal visuals for the distinctive follow up to ‘Fear’. Flo/so is the solo project from French artist Florian Sauvaire, and has already received support from BBC Radio 1 & 6 Music.
Bathed in authentic electronica, ‘You’ escapes from any sort of boundaries and enters its own realm of conscious.
Florian told us, “You” is tackling the subject of human connection, the emotional and physical contact and the fear of not being able to feel someone again.
I wanted to celebrate this human connection with a slight provocative and erotic feel, but also show the absence and fear of it with a darker and colder touch, especially the use of plastic sheets acting as shields and tying in with my own imagery.
The release of “You” happened during the lockdown so I decided to look for alternative ways to make a good quality video without having to film anything. I found this studio based in St. Petersburg (Russia) called Cotton Studio who regularly offers beautiful stock footage, and some of it fitted perfectly with the track and the artistic vision I had for the video.
The video was edited by film-maker Vasilisa Forbes (#WaxChick project, Clean Air Now). We already had the opportunity to work together on a few video shorts and I thought she would be perfect for this.
A track that walks with confidence, it’s something you’d hear on a catwalk. While the track illuminates independence and a fierce frame, the visuals move through imagery of human bond.
‘You’ is experimental, individual and guided through visually and auditory as a promising future ahead.
