Los Angeles based band Flockheart unveil electro-pop infused single ‘Seven Ninety Nine’
Flockheart’s “Seven Ninety Nine” is the sort of single that will instantly find a way onto your summer dance playlist.
Blending groovy bass lines with ear-worm melodies that will bury themselves into your head, this feels like the perfect catwalk song.
Sharing their thoughts on the track, Roxy of Flockheart explains, “Seven Ninety Nine is an equal labor of love from all members of our band, from lyric revisions to guitar and bass layers, and remixing and masting throughout a majority of the pandemic.
Having it released at this moment feels like an accurate launch into a post-pandemic summer. We hope you can groove to our summer tune!”
Just three-quarters of the way through, the track changes key and takes listeners through a psychedelic funk arrangement of optimism.
Telling the story about all the things in your life that just keep asking for more out of you, for example your Netflix subscription, the lyrics draw a connection to platonic and romantic relationships too.
Sounding somewhere between Gorillaz, Metronomy and Imogen Heap, there’s even elements of indie and neo-soul within the track’s core.
A track that will make you wish the nightclubs were fully open, this distinctive number deserves a full dance floor.
