Harlow Lake gets emotive in stunning ‘Adams Ale’ taken off new album out today ‘Lilac and Lily’
Latest project from Irish songwriter Shane O’Leary aka Harlow Lake, the stunning chord progression on Adams Ale will leave you mesmerised. Occupied by experimental acoustic melodies, the gentle arrangement is fuelled with the finest indie-folk.
No stranger to the music industry, Shane has toured throughout Ireland, the UK and Sicily over the last decade with prog-rock outfits Jezery and Lamp.
On the release, Shane told us, “With regards to the song, Adams Ale, I wrote it as part of a collection of songs, each one dedicated to a specific person who impacted my life.
The song is about a friend who changed the way I see myself and the world, opening me up to the wonder and magic I hadn’t seen in the world since I was a child. And also how he then vanished unexpectedly over five years ago. Never to be seen again.”
For a debut, you need something that will stick out and grab your attention from the get go. Adams Ale features an experimental structure that leaves you wanting more. The good news is that the debut solo album ‘Lilac and Lily’ is available everywhere right now.
Channeling a diverse range of influences, the sound of Harlow Lake has many faces but still features a distinctive aura that instantly tells you this is Shane’s material. Coated with intricate guitars, and soothing vocal melodies, Adams Ale feels like the lovechild of José González and Elliott Smith. Check out the full album, you won’t be disappointed.
