Emerging UK artist Harry Eley shines on his thoughtful and rousing debut EP Me
A debut EP is something of a statement for an emerging artist, the first real showcase of the full breadth and scope of their style in an extended body of work, and Harry Eley has done a great job of establishing his unique appeal and likeable, charismatic charm with the release of Me, a collection of tracks that are packed full of heart, composure and a raw, indie rock spirit that packs a rousing punch.
From ‘Stop The War’, a tense and rousing exploration of a relationship on the brink, co-written and performed with Millie Campbell, to previously lauded singles ‘Happy Hate Story’ and ‘Thinking Of You’, there is a confidence to the artist and his sound that feels infectious throughout, with his distinctive personality only adding to the allure and charm of his sounds. The melodic, thoughtful nature of ‘Jewels’ and its reflective narrative and the emotional balladry of ‘Half The Problem’ round out a release that is littered full of highlights and helps to establish the artist as a really special emerging talent.
