Singer-Songwriter HEBE returns with the subtle, folk tinted new single ‘Drink On My Own’
Taken from part 1 of the upcoming album ‘Release Resolution’ (due for release Friday 11th November) which is being released in two separate halves over the coming months, ‘Drink On My Own’ gives a taste of the kind of reflective, and emotionally honest songwriting to be expected across the five-track release.
Built around finger-picked acoustic guitar and layers of stunning, choral harmonies, HEBE creates a pillowy, organic backdrop under her delicate, soulful and effortlessly affecting lead vocals.
Capturing an essence of The Staves, the melancholic beauty of the intertwining melodies shines, peaking with layers of cinematic strings offering an expansive depth to the soundscape.
Speaking on the single Hebe shares: “Drink on My Own is about how being afraid is accompanied by feelings of apparent shame and weakness.
Rather than looking for cloudy metaphors I decided to describe quite literally how these negative feelings impact an average day in my life.
I created a very gentle, almost lullaby sound for it, to make the lyrics less heavy.”
