London based, self taught artist and multi-instrumentalist Holt unveils mesmerising new release ‘The Riverbed’
Drawing on human and nature conflict with the new single ‘The Riverbed‘, London artist Holt gives insight into her highly anticipated, upcoming new EP.
Showcasing her ethereal melodies and emotive lyricism, Holt focuses on building cinematic soundscapes with each release.
Taken from the new EP, the track continues her work with notable producer Jamal Hadaway.
Speaking about the new single, Holt explains, ““The Riverbed starts simply with piano, vocals and a crisp minimal beat before descending into a chaotic synthy madness.
The song explores the ongoing conflict between us and nature – a tension which has become pretty stark over the last 18 months. The writing and production happened really quickly and it presented as a fully formed song almost immediately – a real joy to make.”
Written and recording during lockdown whilst heavily pregnant, Holt shares the trials and turbulences of isolation while feeling reassured by nature around us.
Truly enchanting and able to speak volumes to people living in hope for better days, ‘The Riverbed’ hears a songwriter get personal with her fans.
