Pop artist Inés Rae gets it right in fantastic new single
Accompanied by a DIY style video, ‘Never Get It Right’ is the latest bedroom-pop contender from London based artist Inés Rae.
Released already as a single, the track has received over 23,000 streams on Spotify alone since its drop.
Showcasing that simplicity can definitely be key when it comes to creating, the ambitious video is vivid and easy to grab your attention.
Speaking about the ethereal visuals, Inés shares, “This video captures the spirit of Never Get it Right – shot at sunset on a hot night in a crowded city, it was a deliberate decision to present an isolated figure with the bright lights in the backdrop – emphasising the detachment you can feel when a relationship is going wrong, even when surrounded by people.
It was shot on a VHS camera, a big thank you to Isy Townsend who is always so fun to work with. It’s been such a vibe to work on this record and with co-writers Matt Wills, Ellysee Mason and Woody from Bastille. I’m really excited to be releasing lots more music this year and returning to the live scene.”
Musically, the track is bathed with a glistening vocal and a strong production.
Written and produced with Matt Wills and Woody (Bastille), the sophomore single ‘Never Get It Right’ certainly follows in the successful footsteps as debut single ‘New Girl’.
At only just 19 years old, this songwriter definitely has the world in the palm of her hand.
