Nottingham’s own Isaac Anderson is ready to unveil his new single ‘Mess Me Up’
Nottingham’s own Isaac Anderson is ready to unveil his new single ‘Mess Me Up’, a lively and infectious pop banger that shows off Isaac’s playful and unique style.
“It’s about embracing the beautiful chaos of being young and clueless – stumbling through life with no sense of direction, laughing as the world goes up in flames around you” Isaac shares on the meaning behind the track.
The new single follows the artist’s 2021 EP ‘Love in Conversation’. ‘Mess Me Up’ stylistically moves away from the EP’s collection of introspective folk-pop songs, demonstrating his growth as an artist with each release.
‘Mess Me Up’ stands out as a relatable track, it describes the apathy a lot of us feel in early adulthood, but it’s tinged with an optimism that makes you feel like you’re not alone in that feeling and that it’s totally okay to not know where you’re headed.
“I was inspired by the complete lack of direction myself and a lot of my friends were feeling in our early twenties – ‘cluelessly muddling through life with little notion of how to get where we wanted, but still trying to live every moment as if it were our last with smiles on our faces” Isaac adds.
The track was written and produced by Isaac alone, in his bedroom in Nottingham.
The first draft of the song was written in just a few hours but it took three years of tweaking the lyrics and production to get it to where it is now.
You can stream the track on DSP’s from 7pm tonight (Jan 20th)! Keep your eyes peeled for a music video coming very soon…
