Laurie Wright announce post-lockdown anthem ‘After the End of the World’
Emerging London singer-songwriter Laurie Wright returns with the stunning visuals for forthcoming ‘After the End of the World’, out tomorrow.
Musically, the track is a post-apocalyptic love song written during the first lockdown about the uncertainty of what life will be like after the pandemic is over.
Entirely relatable, the indie infused number was recorded at The Libertines’ owned studio The Albion Rooms in Margate.
Speaking about the visuals, Laurie tells us, “The video was shot, edited and colour graded by Steve Shaw at Stroud Subscription Rooms, in the Official Glastonbury Pyramid Stage light installation by Jack Wimperis called ‘Everything Is Light.’
I wanted to capture the loose dystopian future feel of the song And I feel we’ve done that.”
Instantly vivid, the blockbuster style music video begins with a colourful visual that indicates to forever stay optimistic, the fast-paced track is filled with angst and liveliness.
Receiving previous praise from legends such as Liam Gallagher and Pete Doherty, Laurie has also featured in national papers The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Mirror.
Wright is currently recording his debut album at RAK studios with producer Paul Stacey (Oasis, Noel Gallagher, Black Crowes). The single release show in Wright’s home county at Gloucester Guildhall on August 6th is set to sell out.
‘After the End of the World’ is an ambitious return with padded armour.
