Alternative-pop up and comer Loome shares the infectious new single ‘Talking To Strangers’
The moniker of Suffolk based multi-instrumentalist, producer and writer, Tomas Frankson, Loome has begun to build a buzz following extensive Spotify Editorial playlist support.
Taken from the upcoming EP ‘We’re All Fvcked’, the new single ‘Talking To Strangers’ features some gorgeous guest vocals from fellow up and comer Oktae.
Showcasing warming, airy and atmospheric synth heavy instrumentation, spotless production (mixed by Mike Hillier at Metropolis Studios) and infectiously catchy vocal lines, Loome’s understated yet hugely effective songwriting shines.
Frankson’s and Oktae’s twin vocals, swapping lead duties on each verse is hugely effective, adding to the affecting melancholy which surrounds the track.
Talking about the single, Loome explains: “Opposites make life so vivid, think ‘love/hate’ or ‘life/death’; they’re emotive by default! When Oktae and I got together to write, we wanted to look at the newest dichotomy of recent history, music festivals versus lockdown.
We wanted to write a song about reconnecting to the world. To bring us back, to re-centre us, to heal from the trauma of it all. To get back to Talking To Strangers for no reason at all other than the joy of it.”
Compellingly, subtle and beautiful whilst retaining an effortless commercial appeal, ‘Talking to Strangers’ is a spotless alt-pop track full of depth.
