Indie folk royalty Newton Faulkner returns with the effortlessly glistening ‘I Can Pretend’
British singer-songwriter powerhouse Newton Faulkner has been the talk of the town ever since his debut album ‘Handbuilt By Robots’ when double-platinum over a decade ago. Fast forward from then, the songwriter has spawned five more albums selling over 1.5 million records with over 180M streams.
Lifted from his forthcoming album, ‘I Can Pretend’ is a bright star, shining in a realm of hope for the world right now. Following on from the previous double A side single ’Together / Sinking Sand’, Newton continues to glisten throughout his inspirational journey.
Newton told us: ‘I loved every second of making I Can Pretend. I got to ply everything, which is always fun! I hope you can hear how much fun I had playing drums on this one and I got to do a proper guitar solo! Best studio day ever. In essence, it’s an old school indie track about having a friend, then realising you want to sleep with them’”
Breathing a new energy in his music, Newton never releases the same sounding album twice. Providing he’s a versatile songwriter and player, it’s a daring move but one that’s destined for a number one slot in the charts.
Set to be released across 2020, if the new album is anything like ‘I Can Pretend’, fans across the globe are in for a gift filled with inspiration. A force to be reckoned with in the industry, Newton clearly states he’s evolving, always up for a challenge and steering into an even brighter future.
