Brooklyn based singer-songwriter and producer Richard Orofino is back with alt-pop gem ‘Wanna Say’
Creating a buzz on his recent single ‘Fake Me’ and gaining support from Wonderland, CLASH and more, Richard Orofino is back with alt-pop gem ‘Wanna Say‘.
Starting out with a kind of 90s nostalgia filled guitar line with an old-school effect, Richard’s signature production becomes apparent from the get-go.
Speaking about the powerful new release, Richard tells us, “Wanna Say’ is about finally feeling confident enough in myself and my thoughts to be able to share those feelings with the judgmental part of me.
Even if that part of me doesn’t want to hear or acknowledge those true feelings, I can stand up for what I know I truly desire and feel is right for me. The idea is that it’s possible to have this internal dialogue while standing confidently in my beliefs. Confident enough to overcome that shamefulness and self-doubt is the message.”
The vintage synths and rhythmic tapping on guitars, all made in his apartment’s home studio, all really bring home that bedroom DIY indie-pop sound that’s Richard’s own.
Having collaborated with artists such as Jasper Leah (Sia), Michael Tighe (Jeff Buckley), and John Carroll-Kirby, it’s fair to say that Richard is constantly in fine company.
“Wanna Say” takes Richard up to the next level – this artist better be ready for the big time.
