Multi-instrumentalist Roselien fuses neo-soul, electronic, nu-jazz and funk in addictive new single ‘Give Me A Break’
Soulful artist Roselien reveals neo-soul infused offering “Give Me A Break”, taken from her forthcoming EP ‘Seventh Ascension”.
Opening for artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello, Gregory Porter, The Jones Girls, Bilal and Gabriel Garzon Montano, Roselien is certainly raising eyebrows and turning heads within the industry.
Fusing R&B, electronica, nu-jazz and funk to create her glistening new soundscape, ‘Give Me A Break’ refuses to be limited to one musical style.
Sharing her thoughts on the message of the iconic new single, Roselien explains, “Give Me A Break is about realising how high the price can be for chasing your dream”.
Explaining how she finds her inspiration, Roselien shares, “I get my inspiration from forward-thinking musicians and producers such as George Duke, Quincy Jones, Frank Ocean, Esperanza Spalding, Erykah Badu, Moacir Santos and Johnny Guitar Watson to name a few.
I get inspired by interactions with people, by nature, by reading, by art, by listening to music and studying it – I find it all inspiring.”
Experimental in places and based around an adventurous arrangement, this is a confident single that breathes vibrance throughout.
Energetic and fun-loving from the very first note, “Give Me a Break” deserves to put Roselien on the map.
