Indie-pop duo Sarko Montaug unveil new release ‘We Live in the Sky’
Indie, electro-pop duo Sarko Montaug unleash retro-tinged pop anthem ‘We Live in the Sky‘ into the wild.
Produced and mixed by Jorge Elbrecht (Japanese Breakfast, Wild Nothing), Elbrecht weaves together stacks of melodies sung by both members of the duo propelled forward by swells of vintage synths.
Speaking about the new release, Sarko Montaug share, “The word “resignation” kept coming up over and over as we were building out the song. Of the many different types of sadness, we tried to focus lyrically and sonically on a resigned sadness.
This is a story about reassessing a long relationship and accepting that things can’t be undone. Resignation seems to show up some time after that part of the process. We wanted to capture that moment.
Despite how somber we look in the video, we had such fun filming it all in one day.”
