South London based outfit Slovo unveil visuals to enchanting track ‘Woman On The Edge of Time’
Slovo are a collective featuring US hip-hop innovator Mike Ladd, Italian singer Barbarella (Barbarella’s Bang Bang) and former Faithless guitarist Dave Randall. Returning with their first release of the month, ‘Woman On The Edge of Time’ explores futuristic territory while holding onto past sentiments.
Slovo says: “This is our tribute to the feminist sci-fi novel by the same name, written in 1976 by Marge Piercy. We love that book and were deeply moved by its portrayal of the possible dystopian and utopian futures that await us. It’s a work of fiction, but one that demands action in the real world.”
With all proceedings from sales and streaming going to the homeless charity The Brixton Soup Kitchen, ‘Woman On The Edge of Time’ feels like an unforgettable statement. Diving into the realm of indie electronica, the haunting track travels through experimental boundaries.
Accompanied by a creative video featuring Barbarella and dancer Jordan Ajadi, the visuals were filmed during lockdown on phones by the two. Produced by Andy Marlow, the innovative movements are ethereal and free spirited.
Completely spellbinding and deserving of huge recognition, Slovo’s upcoming album is looking to be spectacular.
