British rising pop artist Stuart Woolfenden is back with new banger ‘Like Old Times’

The self-penned/produced dancefloor filler sees Stuart pining for an old lover, over the backdrop of blazing anthemic synths and a sledgehammer four-to-the-floor beat.

British pop singer/songwriter Stuart Woolfenden has achieved so much at such a young age – from having national airplay on BBC Radio 6 aged just 17, to being recognised by industry professionals Jamal Edwards (founder of SB.TV), Maisie Williams (of Game Of Thrones fame), and Rob Da Bank (founder of Bestival) when he was shortlisted to perform on the Bestival main stage.

Stuart’s glitchy vocals echo hyperpop acts such as Charli XCX and Dorian Electra as he speaks in between lines in true Britney fashion.

A futuristic club endeavour, this track is sure to be on your Friday night party playlist.

Speaking on the song, Stuart shares, ‘Like Old Times’ is a song I wrote during a time when I felt like the world was on top of me, and somehow I managed to create something that I can dance to in a gay club with my friends.

It’s a song about a boy who I was speaking to during the first lockdown in the UK. I didn’t realise at the time that his conversations took my mind off what was going on in the world… until he ended up getting into a relationship with another guy. I felt a bit lost come the second lockdown. There was a lot going on in my personal life and I wanted to reach out and chat like old times, but instead, I wrote this song!

‘Like Old Times’ truly feels like a new beginning for me. I’ve spent years trying to figure out my audience and genre and I think deep down I always knew, but was never confident to throw myself into queer dance-pop. It represents everything that songwriting and art means to me. Taking something negative in my life and turning it into something positive. This is a very exciting new chapter in my artistry.”

The start of a fantastic year for Stuart Woolfenden, this artist is destined for stardom.
