DIY dream pop outfit Temples of Youth return with their latest, hypnotic single ‘Suburbia’
Temples of Youth continue their vibrant sound in ‘Suburbia’. Mixing elements of shoegaze, synth-pop and new wave into their craft, they draw inspiration from C86 artists and the US indie movement. Developing their sound with melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Suburbia is a refreshing outlook into the future of shoegaze.
Temples of Youth told us that ‘Suburbia is a dream pop night drive to the darkest part of a city. A soundtrack to outrunning past mistakes and leaving everything behind’.
One of my favourite finds in weeks, it’s no surprise to us that the trio have gained support from BBC Introducing and have even been played on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2. Glistening in the summer sun, Suburbia is the type of track you’d stick on a playlist of recommendations you’d send to your friends.
With elements of different genres all into one track, there’s something for everyone. Jangly guitar chords, reverberated vocals and shimmering synths, Suburbia deserves recognition far and wide.
