Southampton based duo The Vitrines return with all guns blazing in new single ‘You Give Me Chills’
Straight off the mark with an explosive arrangement, The Vitrines’ new single ‘You Give Me Chills’ refuses to be left for dead.
Unapologetic and filled with teenage angst, the hard-hitting new single is bathed in post-punk sensibilities and stands for no-nonsense.
Kicking off 2021 in the right way, the two-piece are certainly starting their musical year off with all guns blazing.
The Vitrines mentioned, “The track really looks into the possessiveness of after a breakup, even if it’s not justified. It’s like the reaction to seeing someone go out of their way to make amends when you’ve already moved on.
We ended up recording it down south with us both constantly travelling around for uni, the track and whatever was happening at the time. It’s sounds class for a couple days in the studio.”
At just over two and a half minutes long, the vibrant single includes aggressive fuzz guitars, powerful drums and an ear-worm chorus that will wiggle its way into your brain.
Picture the scenes when this drops at a live show, in fact, this summer and autumn, The Vitrines are gracing the stages of festivals and taking to the road to play in Southampton, London and Bristol. Having previously played the Isle of Wight festival, this two-piece surely have star-quality written all over them.
If this track doesn’t make you want to get tickets to The Vitrines’ upcoming shows, you need your ears testing.
