Returning with glistening new single ‘i’ve got a girlfriend, but i like you’, the diverse single showcases that Trevor continues to evolve with each release while still paying tribute to his roots.
Speaking about the release, Trevor explains, “i‘ve got a girlfriend, but i like you’ is one of the lead singles off my new upcoming album ‘these are my memories’. The song was inspired by a night of fun I had in Cleveland, Ohio after playing a festival gig around the area.
I ended up meeting this fun bisexual woman who dragged me around the city drinking and smoking weed. It was just a really fun night to be honest, I didn’t know I’d be writing about it later.
My intent with the song was to tell a story and I feel like I accomplished exactly that. The version you’re hearing is actually the second version. I had previously recorded everything and decided to scrap it. It just didn’t feel good. Fortunately the second version I came up with, I really quite like!”
