Issues with your body image and your sense of self-worth are unfortunately nothing new in society, especially when the summer rolls around, and Rachel Bochner‘s new release does a nice, sobering, job of articulating these thoughts.

The aptly titled ‘hating myself in the summer’ serves as an understated indie pop anthem for anybody who is struggling or battling with these thoughts and feelings. Offset against a lush sonic backdrop and a laid-back sound, the track manages to feel both lighthearted and disconcertingly raw. A wonderfully constructed and delicate piece of rousing work.
