The rising Australian artist continues to shine on her compelling sophomore single
Meanjin/Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Rosa Mack stunned us with her incredible debut single ‘When I’m Alone’ late last year, and has continued to build momentum with the release of her immersive and captivating sophomore effort ‘Love You Always’.
The track has an effortlessly cool and laid-back neo-soul flair to it stylistically, with its delectable grooves and nuanced instrumentation instantly lulling you into a world of euphoria and bliss. The atmospheric nature of the sound and smooth, alluring textures juxtapose a more cautious narrative lyrically that explores themes like mortality, fear and vulnerability, making for this really interesting juxtaposition that feels compelling throughout.
“The song explores the thoughts of someone facing their remaining moments, wishing for the safety home and to see whom they love once more.” Rosa Mack says of the track. “As someone whose mind is prone to wander, I find the idea of escape very seductive. Not once, but two times this desire has led me to nearly become completely lost while hiking through the forest. Thankfully, I found my way back on the trail but the feeling of panic has stuck with me.”
