The powerful new single was written and produced by the artist herself
Ahead of the release of her highly anticipated debut album, Samantha Margret has released ‘hot enough’, an increasingly intense and unsettling dive into internalised misogyny and the different ways that it takes root in our lives and manifests itself throughout our lives.
The track does a really incredible job of representing the way that the issue spirals and quickly veers out of control, spiking your adrenaline as it ramps up the tension and the tempo increases, mirroring the increasingly uncomfortable scenarios that the artist details, all of these situations and problematic instances that have just been normalised and accepted in our day to day lives. As a result, ‘hot enough’ is a track that feels entirely unlike anything else, as much a message and a warning as it is a song, and one that is impossible to listen to without getting swept up into how entirely unsettling and consuming it feels, making a powerful statement in the process.
