The track is from the Tokyo artist’s excellent new EP The Fool
An artist with a hard-hitting and distinctive brand of alternative rock that borrows from a lot of different styles to craft something that feels exciting and new, Tokyo’s Sarina is somebody who is rapidly establishing herself as a heavyweight in the scene with her charismatic edge and the unpredictable and ambitious nature of her sound.
Her latest single ‘Fools Gold’ is a track that sees the artist putting a theatrical slant on her sound, utilising a symphonic rock soundscape to create a really powerful and intense feel that grips you throughout. The track builds to a rousing climax that showcases some of Sarina’s most breathtaking and jaw-dropping vocals to date, and continues to highlight an artist who’s creativity and likeable nature has put a limitless ceiling on her potential to grow even more unstoppable.
“‘Fools Gold’ is my most powerful song to date,” says Sarina. “It’s about the smoke and mirrors of glamour and the rot the hides beneath. It’s easy to paint pretty colours on top of festering wounds, to cover and hide and boast when deep down we feel the sickness, the decay, the lie of it all. That’s why the song is called ‘fools’ gold. It’s not real, the shine, the value, none of it is real. It’s just a facade.”
