The track masterfully sets the scene for her upcoming EP of the same name
Brighton-based Sianon is at her most candid and painstakingly honest on her new single ‘Now That It’s Over’.
The opening track from her upcoming new EP of the same name delicately sets the scene for a release that centers around a painful break up. The artist’s powerful and heart-wrenching lyrics and effortlessly powerful voice make for a devastating cocktail, painting a scarily visual image of the visceral feelings and thoughts that she has been through. ‘Now That It’s Over’ represents pop in its most powerful and soul-baring moments, and highlights Sianon as an artist with an ability to bring these intense thoughts and feelings to life in a spellbinding yet ultimately somber way.
On the new single, Sianon says “Opening up the EP is the title track that sums up the week following the break-up. The period in which it still hadn’t sunk in, ‘still got your coffee cup at the side of the bed, ‘i wear your t-shirts like you never left’ , I was so used to being with that person that the routine continued even though they had left, I was convinced it was some kind of mistake and that they would walk through the door any minute and so ‘beneath the matt I keep the key, in case a part of you it still believes.’ This track kind of paints the very real picture of me sat on the bedroom floor, a box of photographs open, reflecting on all of the highs in the relationship, memories of when ‘you flew me to paris and promised forever’ etc, and just wondering why i wasn’t good enough.”
