A track that has been a part of their live set since the trio’s debut show, ‘ rollercoaster’ is a new release from søftbleach that has been highly anticipated from their fans, already renowned for its emotional cutting edge and the deeply personal and poignant nature of the sound.
Thematically, the track explores the nuance and difficulty that come with watching somebody you love battle with their mental health and the weight that that hangs over you, being forced to see them grapple with these invisible forces. The atmospheric and low-key nature of the sound does a great job of expressing how vulnerable and sobering this can feel, and the lyrics and soundscape come together to create a truly memorable and moving listening experience that is packed full of heart and rawness.
“We are so glad this one is finally out in the world, as it’s been in our live shows since the beginning! Seeing this song resonate with an audience is a crazy feeling for us, so the fact that it’s out for more people to hear feels great! As soon as we wrote rollercoaster it felt very special to us and we hadn’t even started our band at that point, we just knew we needed to release it in some capacity and we’re so glad we got to do that!”
