Soul Push establish their playful sound with the bright and cheeky pop of ‘Sticky Situation’. The new single is taken from their debut EP Body Is A Temple.
Referencing “Nintendo 64 and befriending vibrators instead of hanging out with your partner”, the track is a blunt evisceration of lacklustre relationships and dreaming of all the things they would rather be doing instead. Leaning into that glass-half-full mentality whilst most break-up songs take a sombre route, ‘Sticky Situation’ is an immediate, bright and bouncy earworm.
And Soul Push aren’t ones to beat about the bush; they describe ‘Sticky Situation’ as “a song about embracing narcissism and only doing the things you want to be doing”. Touché!
