The heartbreaking track is the Irish artist’s third single.
Stacey Dineen is an artist who’s sound has a really unmistakably genuine and heartfelt feel to it. Every word that the artist sings feel like it comes directly from her heart, and every strained note and painful piece of imagery feels lived and authentic.
A perfect example of this is the artist’s latest release ‘I’ll Never Know’, a candid track that showcases the artist at her most vulnerable. With the Irish artist unpacking, emotionally and literally, following the painful conclusion to a relationship. There is a lot of heart in this sound and anybody that has been in a similar situation will be able to see a bit of themselves in the questioning and reflecting that Stacey does. A heartbreaking and unashamedly powerful track that highlights the emerging artist’s stunning capabilities as both a songwriter and a storyteller.
Stacey says the track explores “questioning yourself and your partner after a break up. It’s about wondering if you had done things differently in the relationship would you both still be together, but ultimately I’ll never know, because that wasn’t the case. It starts off with me coming across some of his things and then doubting my part in the relationship. I was sure I done more than enough but did I? then the song proceeds to question my partner in the relationship, did he do enough? We were both to blame for the breakup but ultimately nothing makes a difference because the damage is done, and if things were different would we still be together? “I’ll never know” I wrote I’ll never know in 20 minutes after seeing my ex partners stuff in boxes in the garage. They were covered in dust and on the top was an old picture of us, I took that imagery along with my hurt and turned it into a song.”
