19-year-old Sydney singer-songwriter Stella Grey has wasted no time establishing her raw-edged, emphatic brand of pop rock on her debut solo single ‘Heart So Cheap’. Having began to establish herself as one half of the duo rougethe artist has gone on to prove that she is more than capable of bringing the noise in her own right.

Whereas debut rouge single ‘Heartbreak is a Bore’ has a more affable indie pop nature to it, ‘Heart So Cheap packs a bit more of a cutting edge, with Stella showcasing her commanding vocal presence over guitar riffs and a rugged, yet melodic soundscape. The track continues to showcase the talent and diversity of a growing artist who is still developing and establishing her sound. From what we’ve heard so far, it would be a safe bet to assume that there is a lot more exciting work to come from Stella Gray.

“It’s like when you’re in a situation and you just know that your heart’s gonna get broken.” Stella says of the track. “I wrote Heart So Cheap as an almost come back to that, realising that instead, i’m just ‘better off on my own’.”
