Here at CLOUT, we consider ourselves long-time fans and admirers of Welsh alternative outfit Strange Company, witnessing the evolution and growth of their ambitious sound and seeing them mature and adapt in real time across their releases.
Their latest of these comes in the form of the powerful ‘Break My Heart (Part I), a track that has a really emotionally charged core in the same way to how bands like Movements and Basement pair these heartfelt moments with muscular guitars and hard-hitting passages, making for a really impactful appeal on a range of levels. The instrumentation here feels razor sharp and dynamic, and the vocals in particular feel as commanding and focussed as they ever have, signalling further evolution for a band who have more than outgrown their current place in the UK alternative scene.
