At CLOUT we’ve grown into huge fans of Welsh alternative rock outfit Strange Company, a criminally underrated band who’s diverse and expansive sound has seen them flirting with genres like metal, emo and hard rock, making for a dynamic and engrossing listening experience that feels as melodic and is does searingly modern.
The latest release from the band is ‘Dream Cult’, an anxious and explosive track that was born out of the isolation and uncertainty of lockdown. The band’s emphatic sound lends itself perfectly the the narrative, juxtaposing the heavier and more melodic facets of their sound to create a track that feels equal parts intense and fiery throughout. The darker side of the track’s narrative explores the notion of being able to control somebody’s dreams and project all of their worst fears upon them, again seeping into these themes of anxiety and creating a palpable sense of tension and uncertainty throughout.
