Following on from the explosive, CLOUT-lauded ‘Hivemind’, Swansea alternative outfit Strange Company are showing no signs of letting up or slowing down, and their new single ‘Fever Dream’ showcases a slightly different side to the outfit while maintaining their trademark sense of intensity and heaviness.

The track builds with a real sense of guile and purpose, crafting a real sense of atmosphere while it gradually loosens its restraints and grows more impactful and urgent. As always, the outfit’s deft marriage of melody and heaviness feels seamless here, complimenting each other at every turn and giving the more cathartic moments of intensity even more of a sense of gravity and weight. Strange Company have a sound that avoids some of the tired cliches and pitfalls that alternative rock can tend to fall into, and their creative and expansive approach to varying their sound and trying new things gives them an exciting and memorable edge. Strange Company are still emerging themselves in the UK music scene, but more releases like these should begin to turn heads sooner or later.
