Swansea’s Strange Company have made a name for themselves as of late for the brash heaviness of their emphatic sound and their infectiously melodic hooks. Latest single ‘Make Yourself At Home’ is something of a change of pace from the outfit, an emo-punk anthem about the sense of isolation and anxiety brought on by a global pandemic and the worldwide lockdowns enforced a few years ago.
The track showcases a very emotive and human side to the outfit, echoing the fear and hope that many people felt during the unprecedented times and channelling it into a sound that feels as impactful and powerful as it does thoughtful. The exciting band have been gradually making waves since their emergence last year, and as time goes on they continue to showcase more facets to their sound and style, developing a real sense of maturity and depth to couple with their heavier and more explosive moments.
