The track is from the artist’s lauded new album ocd
A captivating love-letter to the mid-2000s and the culture and bands that seemed to pop up out of nowhere at the time, latest Tamar Berk single ‘indiesleaze 2005’ is a thoughtfully crafted ode to a time that seems far, far removed from the world we live in today, informed by the artist’s own experiences and fond memories.
The is a soft and poignant kind of undertone to the track, as the artist reels off memories and staples of the time like the abundance of bands, the optimism and positivity, and it leaves a really moving impression on anybody who was around to witness it at the time. Musically, ‘indiesleaze 2005’ and its reverb-soaked appeal feels like a subtle nod back to the time, and the messy, yet hopeful way that the transitional period felt.
“I was starting new bands constantly. All of us were still young, still hungry, still chasing the idea that music could change everything,” Tamar says. “But at the same time, people around me were beginning to think about families, money, ‘real life.’ It felt like we were taking our last big swing before adulthood really set in. We were playing shows, partying, and being as chaotic as possible — like we knew that moment wouldn’t last forever.”
